How To Do A Bibliography


A bibliography is a page at the end of your paper that lists every reference you utilized. It is important to list all your references to avoid any claims of plagiarism. This will save you a lot of trouble in the long run. I will you show you the most basic format, so you know how to do a bibliography for your papers.

To start off, all your sources will be listed in alphabetical order by author. If there is no author for your source, then list it by title in your bibliography.

BOOK
The format for a book source in your bibliography is as follow:

Author’s last name, first name, period. Title of the book underlined, period. Place the book was published, colon, publisher’s name, commma, Copyright date, period.

WEBSITE
The format for an internet source in your bibliography is as follows:

Last name of the author of the page, first name, period. Title of specific page in quotes, period. Title of the entire webpage, underlined, period. The full URL of the page, beginning with http://, the date you visited the site in parentheses, period.

MONTHLY MAGAZINE
Formatting for a monthly magazine article in your bibliography is as follows:

Last name of the author of the article, first name, period. Title of article in quotation marks, period. Title of magazine underlined, period. Date of issue formatted with month first then year, comma. Page Numbers, period.
